ABERGAVENNY - TRADITIONAL GATEWAY TO WALES

The ancient and welcoming town of Abergavenny is situated on the edge of the incomparable Brecon Beacons National Park. It is the ideal place to take an excursion or spend a holiday.

The town itself, caressed by the Beacons and Black Mountains and nestling in the famous Usk Valley, is full of historic, architectural, cultural and scenic interest, proud of its past and its traditions and yet up-to-the-minute in meeting the present day needs of tourists, business and those seeking outdoor activities.

CAERLEON

Caerleon is an attractive historical village that boasts an exceptional Roman legacy of an amphitheatre, fortress, baths and the only Roman legionary barracks in Europe. The legionary museum and courtyard crafts and antiques at the Ffwrwm centre must be visited.

USK

The village nestles snugly amongst hills in the heart of rural Monmouthshire, on the banks of the river from which it takes its name.

Usk really has a beauty of its own, a ruined castle, an ancient bridge spanning the river and a picture postcard town square surrounded by cobbled pavements and ancient buildings and antique shops.

Steeped in history Usk has developed from a largely agricultural market town to a popular floral centre and salmon fishing resort.

Spend a day in Usk visiting the Priory Church, Rural Life Museum and the Victorian Session House as well as exploring the delightful river and country walks around the edge of the town.

MONMOUTH

The town has its share of history guarded by a rare fortified bridge protecting one end of town.

The Nelson Museum houses a unique collection of memorabilia and personal items of Lord Nelson and Sir Charles Rolls of Rolls Royce.

Monmouth is a bustling market town with plenty of interesting shops.

CARDIFF

Cardiff, the Capital City of Wales has exploded spectactularly onto the world scene. The Millennium stadium, Welsh Assembly, Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay (Europe's largest regeneration project).

Waterfronts, parks and gardens are only a few minutes walk from the city centre. Cardiff boasts some of the best shops in Wales contained in several shopping centres as well as the old traditional arcade shops.
